Built From Real-World Training
I’m Jake, the founder of Fit Over 30+.
I’m an active dad, HVAC engineer and lifelong trainee with experience across functional fitness, bodybuilding, calisthenics and combat sports. Training has always been a major part of my life—but getting older, working a physically demanding job and managing joints that don’t always cooperate changed how I needed to approach it.
I still wanted to build muscle, develop skills, stay conditioned and perform athletically. I just couldn’t rely on programmes written for someone with unlimited recovery, perfect joints and no responsibilities outside the gym.
That experience became the foundation of Fit Over 30+.
Why I Created Fit Over 30+
Most fitness programmes seem to offer two extremes.
You can train with relentless intensity while ignoring recovery and existing limitations, or you can follow something so cautious that it no longer feels like meaningful training.
I wanted a better middle ground: structured programmes that maintain intensity and athletic purpose while using intelligent exercise selection, mobility work, sensible progression and joint-conscious alternatives.
Fit Over 30+ is for people who aren’t ready to slow down—but understand that staying capable requires training intelligently.
How I Approach Training
The programmes are built around three principles:
Strength That Transfers
Build useful strength and athletic muscle through functional bodybuilding, unilateral training, loaded carries, calisthenics and carefully selected compound movements.
Conditioning With Purpose
Develop aerobic fitness, anaerobic capacity and repeatable power without assuming that everyone needs endless roadwork or constant high-impact training.
Mobility You Can Use
Mobility should improve how you move and train—not simply help you become better at passive stretching. The focus is on usable range, control, stability and consistent structural maintenance.
Built for Real Adults
Fit Over 30+ programmes are designed for people balancing training with demanding jobs, family life, limited time and the accumulated wear that comes from years of being active.
Depending on the programme, you’ll find:
- Home and gym training options
- Clear schedules and progressions
- Exercise alternatives
- Mobility and recovery work
- Functional strength training
- Conditioning for general fitness and combat sports
- Immediate access to downloadable digital guides
You don’t need to pretend you’re 21. You need a training approach that helps you remain strong, mobile and athletic for the long term.
An Honest Approach
I’m not presenting Fit Over 30+ as physiotherapy, medical treatment or personalised rehabilitation. The programmes provide general fitness education based on practical training experience, established exercise principles and the methods I use in my own training.
If you have an injury, medical condition or unexplained pain, seek appropriate professional advice before beginning a new programme.
